An island of health and wellness in Flint's North End

Metropolitan Baptist Tabernacle is a church impacting the North Flint, Michigan community with ministries, health and wellness services. MBTC also works to develop strategies to rehabilitate, revitalize and redevelop the community around the church. MBTC’s commitment to wellness and serving the whole person can be seen in its free, full-service fitness center that is available to residents whether they are members of the church or not. MBTC also understands that access to clean, safe water is a key component of wellness.

A great partner for our second Water Box, MBTC reaches an area of Flint which was severely impacted by the water crisis. MBTC provides evening water distribution hours allowing people who are working or in school during the day to have more convenient access to the Water Box. Since the church closed to the public in response to Covid-19, the Water Box at MBTC was relocated to the nearby Prince of Peace church and water distribution has continued.  You can find out more about MBTC here: http://themetrobt.org/

The Water Box at MBTC was made possible by a donation from Ellen Degeneres and General Mills.
